Divus Augustus, died AD 14. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 35 mm, 26.84 g, 1 h), Rome, 35-36. DIVO / AVGVSTO / S P Q R Augustus seated left in quadriga of elephants with riders, holding branch in his right hand and scepter in his left. Rev. [TI] CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST P M TR POT XXXVII around large S C. BMC 108. Cohen 307. RIC 62. Some corrosion and with a minor flan crack, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of Dipl.-Ing. Adrian Lang, ex Gorny & Mosch 225, 14 October 2014, 2038 and reportedly previously acquired from 'Schreiber' in Cologne in 1979.
